Help others grow their spirituality
I had to think long and hard about what spiritual growth means to me. Often people tell me that they have been praying and their prayers just bounce of the ceiling and even though I have asked people a million times “why are you praying to the ceiling?” I also feel like this sometimes. Spiritual growth is not knowing everything, it is a need and a want to grow in a relationship with God.
Growing you relationship with God is not measured by the amount of rituals you do or even the good deeds you do, it is in the faith you have and the trust you place in Him. This week I experienced something amazing, by reading our blog most of you have come to know Deon. He is truly a remarkable human being he placed his faith and trust in God and followed a dream that he has had for quite some time. I never really thought of spirituality in that way, but this week I also completed my master’s degree and realised that although I don’t always belief in myself God is there. For me He was there in the form of supportive colleagues, friends and generally just that small voice that said “just a little bit more”. Spirituality is much like these examples it is something you do today to enjoy later.
Ps: ‘he who shall not be named’ literally just hijacked my blog to say he realised his own dream, which for the past 7 years was not even an option, but it just goes to show when we give up God takes us forward. How will your story inspire others to grow their spirituality??
