Grateful for the real people
Today I am grateful for the “real” people!!
I truly miss the days before facebook, bbm and what’s app. Sure, it makes some things so much easier. You can keep up with people around the world and that’s great, but 15 years ago if you sent your friend a sms and she did not get back to you right away that was okay. These days with what’s app, facebook and bbm it is all too easy to track whether or not messages have been read, where people are, what they are doing and who they are doing it with.

It is this lack of privacy that is a great contributor to the breakdown of relationships. With the way it use to be, there was still an element of privacy and I have come to the conclusion that it is this element that makes relationships work. You could show intimacy by sharing your life with others now your gardener, your mail man and the other 247 facebook friend you have knows these things. People don’t make time to share anymore we live past each other and get angry when… “I can see you read my message but, have not replied”. Should I get angry about the fact that you read my message, but have not replied? This causes turmoil in our lives because this makes us question friendships and people’s motives.
This is why I am grateful for the real people, the people that share their lives with you, because they want to and not because you saw them “checked in” on facebook. So to the real people, keep it real.
Help others keep it real!!
