Where would I go

“Where would I go and will I end up where I intend to go?  What direction would I choose?”  These were the first questions that I asked myself when I first saw this picture.  The longer I looked at it, the more I realised that I don’t have to wonder where I would go – north, east, south or west – because I can choose any direction I want to within the three hundred and sixty degrees around me.

This got me thinking about life.  We choose the direction we wish to go. I also know that other people can point us in a direction but it is we who choose to walk the path.  I also understand that circumstance can also point us in a direction.

But we can change direction by choice!

Let’s say you were driving in an unknown city and you were looking for a specific building, but you know in which direction to go.  How many times did you get the feeling that you passed it and then had to stop and change direction? This happens to me all the time!
Look at the sentence I highlighted.  There are two things you have to do… stop, and change direction! In other words: come to a standstill and take a different route.

In our spiritual growth it’s the same.  God gave us the gift of choice  to decide for ourselves what route we want to take.  Many times we think we know where we are going, but end up looking for what we thought was there. Then it is good to know that we are actually never lost in life because Jesus always knows where to find us (isn’t He just the best Saviour!)
Jesus is the good shepherded and He knows where the best pastures are.

So, next time when you look at a photo like this or you have a feeling that you don’t know where to go, ask the Good Shepherd.  He won’t just point you in the right direction; He will lead you in the right direction!
